Experience Springtime in the South Funen Archipelago
Spring is a really special time of year on Langeland and Strynø.
After the long dark months of winter the sun begins to return, the beech trees spring out, spring flowers start to bloom, the animals produce their young and our artists and museums open their doors again.
On Strynø the apple orchards with their many fine trees become particularly seductive in the late spring, when the trees begin to flower. May is usually the best time to visit Strynø if you want to see the trees in full bloom.
Langelands Footpath Association recommends six “green” walks in the Langelands beautiful beech woods when they are at their springtime best. Enjoy the fresh green of the new beech leaves, while the birds are singing and building their nests.
When the smell of the wild garlic, also known as ramsons, spreads through the woodlands, it is a sure sign that spring is on the way. Try picking them in the early spring, when their taste is at its mildest.
During the spring you can enjoy a wide range of concerts and other cultural events on our islands. At Easter “Open Langeland” is held and during May the Maypole on Strynø is erected.

Outdoor Museums & cultural experiences
In the heart of Langeland’s idyllic countryside lies one of the Cold War’s silent witnesses: Langelands Fort. Today the fort has been transformed into the popular Cold War Museum, which is now one of Langeland’s biggest tourist attractions. Here both young and old can go exploring, both above and below ground.
Indoor activities for all ages
Visit the H.C. Ørsted Exhibition and dive into electromagnetism and the story of one of Denmark's greatest scientists. Admission is free!

All three are located in beautiful natural surroundings with good opportunity for a nice walk.
