A Climate Friendly Holiday
On Langeland you can go holiday and leave a low CO2 footprint. If you travel to the island using public transport, drive here in an electric vehicle or cycle and walk around the island, you can enjoy a great holiday without worrying about your affect on the climate.
Langeland’s windmills produce 164% of the island’s electricity needs. Not only are we self-sufficient, we export electricity to the rest of Denmark.
If we take in to account all sources of green electricity, the total rises up to 177%. We also use solar energy - both for electricity and communal central heating.
Hop on a direct bus from Copenhagen, take the train to Svendborg or use one of our many local bus routes.
You can find car charging stations at several sites around the island.
